Course Completion Certificates
|
Overview
When a student has mastered all the units within a course, either
through the Skill Assessment section or through the course, that
course will be indicated as mastered on both the transcript and
scores pages. The student then may print a certificate the displays
he or she has mastered the course.
The default mastery level is set at 70%.
Achieving Mastery through Skill Assessment
and/or Courses
To achieve mastery of a course, a student must achieve mastery
for each unit. This can be done by correctly answering questions
in that unit within the course or by correctly answering the questions
for that unit in the Skill Assessment. A student's ability to access
a completion certificate is based on achieving mastery in a particular
unit regardless of whether it was achieved in Skill Assessment,
the questions within the course, or a combination of both.
Understanding your Scores Page
The Skill Assessment columns show your scores, by unit, for completed
Skill Assessments. A Skill Assessment is completed when all the
questions, usually 30, have been answered. Your score will not be
registered if you exit a Skill Assessment before completion. The
First Try column shows your score for the first completed Skill
Assessment. You may take the Skill Assessment as often as you like.
The Best Try column will show the highest score achieved in each
unit. You will see a This Try column if you have just completed
a Skill Assessment.
The Course column shows your scores from within the course. To
receive a score for a unit, you must answer all the questions in
the unit. Once you receive a score for a unit, you may improve you
score by answering all the questions in that unit again. The Course
column will always show your best score for each unit.
Overall Scores show the average score for the completed units.
Printing Individual Exercises
Click the "Print" button on your browser when you are
located on the exercise page you wish to print. This is the simplest
method to use for printing an individual exercise.
Printing All Exercises from a Course
Under the "Course Tools" tab, you can access "Course
Resources." Under this section is a link for printing exercises.
From here, you have the option to "View," "Print,"
or "Save."
Accessing the Certificate Option
The Certificate option can be accessed from two locations, both
the "My Transcript" page and the "View My Scores"
pages. The "My Transcript" page is available through the
"My Learning" tab. From the transcript page, the student
can click the title of the mastered course to access a certificate.
A certificate is also accessible via the "Course Tools"
tab, under the Assessment / View My Scores link.
Certificate Content
The student has the option of two certificate styles, classic and
jazzy. After the student chooses a style, the certificate is generated
automatically, filling in the name of the student (from the assigned
ID), the course title, and the date of completion. Certificates
also print an electronic signature of Carol Clark, President and
CEO of MindLeaders.
Printing Certificates
Certificates can be printed through a browser window by accessing
the File menu and selecting Print from the drop-down menu. Students
have the option to print certificates. To print actual scores received,
a student can simply print the Scores page.
